35 Weeks

As of Thursday I will be at 35 weeks and thought it would be good to finally post a belly picture. I am getting pretty big as you can see, counting down the weeks till I'm not pregnant anymore but trying to enjoy these last few weeks of only having one kid to take care of! I had an appointment with the specialist on Friday and he said everything looks great, and they estimated him to weigh about 5 lb 6 oz already! If he gains an ounce a day from here on out like he should he'll be around 8 lbs at 40 weeks. Ethan was 7 lb 10 oz and they say each baby gets bigger so that should be about right. One thing I was a little disappointed at was the doctor said he would probably recommend a repeat c-section. I've really been wanting to try a VBAC, because this is the only one I'll even have a choice on and repeat c-sections limits the amount of babies you can have. So we'll wait and see what happens. Ideally the baby would come on his own at around 38-39 weeks, I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks so its possible but not likely. I think if I go much over 39 weeks the doctor will just say lets do a c-section and I'm sure by that point I'll just be ready to have him out. But the recovery is so much longer with a c-section and having Ethan to take care of as well really makes me want to try to have it naturally (but with an epidural of course :). Any advice from those who've been in this situation or know someone who has?

my friend is going through this right now, they have been building her up to have a VBAC. They have made her do lots of kegel excersizes to makes sure her body can handle it. So told them from the get go that she wanted a vbac for the same reason as you, she wants more kids and does not want to discrease her limit by having more c sections. They of course will not induce you, but if you tell them that this is what you want unless the baby and you are really in distress. Even if you go a little over your due date its okay as long as you can still have him naturally. I know its hard (I went 3 weeks over with my first, not fun) but at least then you have the chance of having a VBAC. Anyway I wish you luck in whatever happens and will pray that it goes the way yall want it too. And on a side note, I think two kids are way easier then one, its a bit more busy and crazy but otherwise not to bad. :O) Good lucj again!! (you look really cute too, not too big!!! )

Having done both, I would choose natural over c-section any day. However, the health of you and the baby is what really matters. And unless your planning on having a dozen kids, I wouldn't worry about the limit it puts on having more children. My grandma had 5 c-sections, and I have another friend who had 6. Good luck though! You have a very cute prego belly!

Hi Jessica,
I have had 2 cs:( I planned to have a VBAC with Riley.. My Dr. was supportive at first, but towards the end he encouraged a repeat cs. He kept saying the baby was big…and if I didn’t go into labor by my due date I’d have to have a cs anyway etc.. Of course I was so sick of being pregnant I broke down and scheduled a cs for the convenience of it all… I regret it so much. Recovering from a major surgery with 2 little ones was no fun. I also feel like I missed out on "giving birth" and having that special experience.. Next time I have a baby I will for sure have a VBA2C. Don’t let your Dr bully or scare you into another cs. As long as you and baby are doing well you can go til 42 weeks.
( I know the thought probably makes you cringe;) But being pregnant a few days longer is so much better than a cs in my opinion. There are a lot of great websites that have very useful info on having a successful VBAC. I really like the VBAC board on baby center.. Anyway if you want a VBAC you should go for it! Just make sure that you make the decision…and not let your Dr. do it for you.. GOODLUCK!

After 2 CS's, I want a VBAC. I had no problem doing a repeat C, wanted it even, but the second time was harder in some ways than the first so I wish I had done natural. I'm hoping they'll let me do it next time! The recovery is just too much! Oh and I agree that the 2nd baby is easier than the 1st. You should be fine! I'm really excited for you guys!

Cute Jessica! I love that we are in pretty much the same boat! :) I think our boys would be good friends- maybe they could be room-mates in college. I think it is so funny, I was asking Benjamin about you guys and how you were doing, and how the pregnancy was going, and he said, "She's Pregnant?" I had a good laugh- that is a typical man for you when you are basically full term and they wouldn't know it. :) Oh- I hope you get to have a vaginal birth- it is hard work, but pretty awesome! You just get so much adrenaline- it is probably the closest to a "high" that we will ever have. :) Best of luck- I'll be thinking of you... pray for me! I so want this baby to come this week!!!

I know you probably don't want to hear this but you look bigger in that picture than in person! I'm excited to meet baby Rindy #2.
